Understanding the Role and Responsibilities of Cooperative Directors

This interactive workshop is designed for boards of directors of cooperative businesses. The subjects covered include director responsibilities, effective board decision making, questions directors should be asking management, and board-manager relations. Decision-making cases will be used to examine critical board decision-making areas and evaluate board performance.

Registration
Workshops are offered to individual boards of directors or groups of directors. Costs include teaching materials and faculty expenses.

Audience
Directors and senior managers of cooperative businesses.

Evaluating Board and Director Performance top

Board members will participate in a structured self-evaluation survey designed to collect director input on critical board performance areas, such as board operations, director role and responsibilities, board leadership, board and management relations, member and organizational issues, as well as overall strengths and weaknesses. Results of the director survey will be analyzed and presented to the full board. Data collected will be used to assist directors in leveraging board strengths and minimizing board weaknesses.

Registration
Evaluation survey and analysis is offered to individual boards of directors. Costs include data collection, teaching materials, and faculty expenses.

Directors and managers who report to the board.

Teaching Method
