Food Retailing 101

Presentations and exercises designed to provide an overview of food retailing to a nonretailing audience.

By Attending You Will
• Examine the evolution and future of food marketing channels—processing, manufacturing, marketing, distribution, wholesaling, and retailing
• Identify key consumer trends associated with food retailing
• Learn about the drivers of retail strategies
• Learn about in-store operations—merchandising, food safety, perishables, logistics

Participative workshop with 3 to 4 hours of learning. Includes presentations and exercises.

Business Simulation Programs: Supermarket Operations and Supply Chain Dynamics top

Business simulations are proven and effective learning tools for managers and executives. Immersion in real world situations allows participants to experience first-hand the dynamics of organizations and markets. Moreover, time compression and immediate feedback allow participants to see and experience the long-term results of their strategies and actions. With additional learning from teamwork and the motivation and excitement of competition, business simulations are powerful learning experiences that can be focused on several areas of emphasis.

Registration Information
Program size ranges from 20 to 50 people. Program length varies from 2 to 4 days. Cost for a 2 1/2-day program, for example, is $12,000 plus lodging, meals, and travel expenses for the 2 instructors.

Audience
Primarily focused on the grocery industry, though applicable to managers at most levels of industry sectors involving distribution and retailing of consumer goods.
