AEM Degree Requirements

To earn the bachelor of science degree in applied economics and management, students complete at least 120 credit hours from the following 4 categories:

AEM Core Requirements 44 credits
AEM Specialization Requirements 18 credits
College Distribution Requirements 29 credits
Free Electives 29 credits
Total Graduation Requirements 120 credits

You will quickly discover that AEM's graduation requirements are broad and very flexible, reflecting Ezra Cornell's revolutionary goal to found an institution where "any person can find instruction in any study."

You will have plenty of opportunity to choose from Cornell's over 4,000 courses offered by nearly 100 departments to tailor your courses to meet your specific career goals.

Previous Degree Requirements

Students admitted to the Department of Applied Economics and Management prior to the fall of 2007 may satisfy either the new degree requirements (see links above) or AEM's previous degree requirements.
