AEM Degree Requirements

College of Agriculture and Life Sciences
Distribution Requirements

Physical Science Requirements
Minimum 11 credits:
Biology (2 introductory courses): BIO G 1101-1104, 1105-1106, 1107-1108, or 1109-1110 (most AEM students take BIO G 1109-1110)
Physics or Chemistry: Any 3-credit course offered by the physics or chemistry department
Other Physical/Life Science course
Social Science & Humanities Requirements
At least 2 courses of 3 or more credits from 2 different categories:
• Cultural Analysis (CA)
• Historical Analysis (HA)
• Literature and the Arts (LA)
• Foreign Language (FL)
• Knowledge, Cognition and Moral Reasoning (KCM)

Written & Oral Expression Requirements
Minimum 12 credits:
Written Expression (6 credits; e.g., First-Year Writing Seminars)
COMM 2010 Oral Communication OR
COMM 2030 Argumentation and Debate
Additional 3-credit course in writing or speaking (e.g., AEM 2000, COMM 3010)
Note: AEM's Core Requirements fulfill the remaining college distribution requirements.
